Obituary of Kathy Simpson

Kathy passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, at Lee Manor Long Term Care Home in Owen Sound, on Monday, August 31, 2020.  Born in Owen Sound, on May 21, 1944, Kathleen Anne Simpson, was in her 77th year. Predeceased by her partner Albert Brown.


Loving mother of Marla Fall (Tom) of Brampton, Billie-Jo Simpson-Strutton (Chris Strutton) of Owen Sound, Kari Simpson-Wagg (Llew Wagg) of Erin, and Doug Simpson (Sharon Cherrey) of Hanover.  Cherished Grandma of Melissa, Natasha, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Benjamin, Jeremiah, and Great-Grandma of eight.  Loved daughter of Verna Simpson of Balmy Beach.  Dear sister of Gail McKibbon (Ron), Bill Simpson (Sandy), Lynn Leighton (Bob), Carol Rankin (Ray), Barbara Maluske (Doug), Carey Simpson (Anne), Betty Simpson, Kirby Simpson, Michael Simpson (Debbie), Susan Mosher (Hank), Debbie Aiken (Murray), Jacqui Perry, Lori Morton (Dale), Peter Simpson (Belinda), Rob Simpson, Sandra Shipley (Joe), Jim Simpson, and sister-in-law of Debbie Simpson.  Kathy will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.


Predeceased by her parents Lloyd Simpson, and Kay and Henry Schnurr, grandsons Thomas and Paul, her sister Donna Whiteman (Wayne), brother Jerry Simpson, and brother-in-law Jim Perry.


Cremation is taking place and a memorial visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th St. W., Owen Sound, ON N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492), on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 1 – 4 p.m.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 50 people will be allowed in the building at any given time, and visitors are asked to wear a mask and follow physical distancing rules.  A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a later date.
