Obituary of Amy Gilroy
GILROY, Amy Lynn It is with immense sadness that the family of Amy Lynn Gilroy announce her sudden passing at age 23 on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in Owen Sound. Amy was a free spirit with a passion for life. Her joy and enthusiasm were infectious and she had a smile that could light up a room. She loved deeply, was incredibly kindhearted and would do anything to support the people she cared about. These were just a few of the remarkable qualities that endeared her to the many friends and family in her life. Amy loved many things; Christmas, animals, photography and spending time with her loved ones. She was as happy spending a night on the town with friends as she was curled up on the couch with her cats Dani and Freya watching Friends and eating pizza. One of Amy's proudest achievements was attaining her Physio Therapy Assistant diploma from Conestoga College, an important step towards her dream job of working with the elderly. She wanted to support seniors with physical therapy to help enrich their lives. Amy also had a creative side. Over the past couple of years she developed an emerging passion for photography. She took countless photos of nature - beaches, sunsets, foliage, lakes and forests. Just two weeks before her death, Amy posted a breathtaking photo of a rainbow with the message "There's always good things within the storm." Amy will be deeply missed by her parents Darren Gilroy (Gillian Wells) and Tammy Mark (Doug Tunks), siblings Lisa Mark, Cindy Gilroy, Nathanael Gilroy, Rebecca Tunks, Katie Tunks and Heather Tunks, grandparents Nancy Gilroy, Sue Mark and Tom Mark and nephew Timmy. She was predeceased by her grandfather James Peter Gilroy and brother Joshua James Gilroy. She will be remembered with much love and fondness by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St W. in Owen Sound on Friday, November 8 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held at Brian E.
