Obituary of Courtney Matches
It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Courtney Matches announces her passing, on Thursday morning, September 26th, 2019. Courtney Kathryn Matches, of South Bruce Peninsula, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, at the age of 24 years. Cherished daughter of Terry Huehn (Brent), of Miller Lake and David Matches, of Park Head. Courtney will be forever in the heart of her fiancé and best friend, Brayden Hurst, of Shallow Lake. Loving sister of Brianna Sylvest (Jake), of Allenford and Kristopher Matches, of Park Head. She will be lovingly remembered by her maternal grandparents, Butch and Brenda Galbraith and Brent’s parents, Donald and Virginia Huehn; Brayden’s parents, Tony and Angela Hurst, Brayden’s grandparents, John and Cathy Hurst and Rena Lawrence and Brayden’s siblings, Chloe Spencer (Isaiah) and Travis Hurst. Very proud aunt of Myla and Adley Sylvest. Courtney will be sadly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Ivan and Verna Matches and Brayden’s grandfather, Leonard Lawrence. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. F. Veenstra and Dr. A. Barfoot and the staff on 6-1 of the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound and also Dr. L. Steinberg and Dr. A. Razak and the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto for all the wonderful care that they gave to Courtney over the last two years.

WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Courtney Matches will be held at the Sauble Christian Fellowship Church, 27 Southampton Pkwy. Sauble Beach, Ontario N0H 2G0 (519-422-1437), on Monday, September 30th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Simkins officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Hepworth Baptist Church, the Park Head United Church or the Sauble Christian Fellowship Church as your expression of sympathy.
