Obituary of Budd Harron
Surrounded by the love of his family, Robert Wesley Budd Harron, of Leith, passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Wednesday morning, August 22nd, 2018, at the age of 85 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Marjorie Harron (nee Browne) (2014). Loving father of Pam Devlin (Neil), Paula Bell, Susan Parker (Dave), Steve Harron (Paula), Jane Dickie (Mike), Jeff Harron (Leah Pountney), Marsha Wipp (Fred) and Maria Harron. Proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Darlene Humphries, Roberta Brent, Larry Harron (Carol), Gaye Kaufman and brother-in-law of Betty Galbraith. Budd will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Christina Harron; his siblings, June Olmstead (John) and Myrna Lemon (Harold); his in-laws, Johnny Brent and Wayne Galbraith; his parents-in-law, Don and Hilda Browne. As a youth, Budd was a talented hockey player and was later inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in both Barrie and Owen Sound. He also coached hockey for more than 25 years, including one year (1963-64 season) as the coach of the Owen Sound Greys Jr. “B” team. A well-liked and respected teacher at West Hill Secondary School for 22 years, he was also involved in the community. He served on the Board of Directors for the Owen Sound Hospital, St. Mary’s Church and the Roman Catholic School System. Budd was also a member of the service clubs, the Silver C’s, Golden K (past president) and Knights of Columbus.

WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Budd Harron will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 – 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Wojciech Kuzma officiating. A Reception for Budd Harron will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1450 – 2nd Avenue West, Owen Sound immediately following the Mass. A Private interment will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Owen Sound. A Vigil Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, the Chapman House Hospice or Owen Sound Minor Hockey as your expression of sympathy.
