Obituary of William "Bill" Gray
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday evening, March 6th, 2018. William John “Bill” Gray, of Owen Sound, at the age of 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Joyce Gray (nee Clayton) for 62 wonderful years. Loving and proud father of Jim, of Sauble Beach and Wendy (Greg), of Owen Sound. Very proud and cherished Papa of Tiffany and Greg. Also survived by sister and brothers-in-law, nieces and a nephew. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Annie Gray; daughter-in-law, Joey Gray, father-in-law, Elmer Clayton, mother-in-law, Olive Clayton, sister-in-law, Helen Robbins and brother-in-law, George Clayton. Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He enjoyed a 35 year career with the Grey County Board of Education, retiring in 1995. His passion was always spending time with his family who he was extremely proud of. He also enjoyed his beloved Attack hockey games as season ticket holder and of late never missing a game on the radio or TV. For several years, he was very active in Owen Sound Minor Hockey, was an avid fisherman, golfer, loved the horse races and had quite a collection of comedy DVDs which he would spend countless hours watching with much laughter. Bill had an extremely great sense of humor and loved to reminisce and tell lots of stories of good times shared with his many great friends who he had the pleasure of knowing over the years.
A Private Family Service for Bill Gray will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 519-376-7492. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
