Obituary of Margaretha Tichaczek
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Margaretha Tichaczek who passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning, April 3rd, 2018 at the age of 94. She is predeceased by husband, Julius Tichaczek. Margaretha was born in Vienna, Austria and made her home in Canada in 1955. Mom will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, her gentle, empathetic nature and her sense of humour, a good listener who always had time for a friend. Margaretha was an avid gardener who loved spending full days working in her gardens and creating beauty in nature. She delighted in travelling, visiting many places around the world and was always ready for a new adventure; she met people on her travels, particularly to Austria and Brazil, who became lifelong friends. Mom, young at heart and always looking ahead, at the age of 65, built a new home, and began expanding her travels. She was loved by all who knew her, friends from the YMCA, friends from Goodyear, from the hospital where she volunteered for fifteen years and from the neighbourhood. She brought sunshine into all of our lives. She will be greatly missed by son, Julius Tichaczek, daughters, Judy Keeling (Terry), Margaret Tichaczek (Phillip), grandchildren Matthew Keeling (Katrina), Thomas Keeling and great-grandchildren Rudi and Clare Keeling.
A Graveside Service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs at a date to be announced. Special thanks to the Southwest L.H.I.N., the VON and Doctors Savaria, Hodgson and Finn and a special thank you to Jane Bartley, our dear friend, for your tremendous support and kindness. If so desired the family would appreciate donations to the World Wildlife Fund or the Southwest L.H.I.N.
