Obituary of Jeannine "Jane" Frost-Aubin
Peacefully at Lee Manor surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday evening, March 5th, 2018. Jeannine Amanda “Jane” Frost-Aubin, of Owen Sound, at the age of 87 years. Loving mother of Laurie Turza (Ed), of Owen Sound, Shirley Mulrooney (Art), of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Michael Aubin, of Rockwood, Sandra Majidy (Saeid), of Guelph and Anthony Aubin (Guylaine), of St. Dominique, Quebec. Proud grandmother of Erin, Lisa, Amanda, Spencer, Megan, Ariane, Jeffrey, Zoha and great-grandmother of Mason and Spencer. Dear sister of James (Jimmy) Frost (Margot), of Trois Rivieres and sister-in-law of Paco Frost, of Laval and Laurette Larose of Trois Rivieres. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Rachel Frost; her daughter-in-law, Linda Aubin; her siblings, William, Laurie (Hughette), Joe, Lou, Charlie, Jean, June and Lawrence Frost. Jane was a woman of many talents. She had a natural artistic talent and painted from age 14. She sewed her own clothes and played the piano. Growing up on the river, she was an avid boater and swimmer, and enjoyed winter sports as well - skiing and skating. While raising her five children she took an active role in community, supporting people at the local drop in centre; acting as President of Single Parent Families, and was Executive Director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters in her region for many years, applying her keen insight and wisdom to ensure the best matches. Opportunities for underprivileged children were important to her. After retiring from Big Brothers, she again took up painting and continued involving herself in community whenever she could. She was always friendly and gracious, with the classiest humour, and ever stoic in facing her challenges. She was often referred to by others in community as the "nicest person on the planet." She will be terribly missed.
A Graveside Service for Jane Frost-Aubin will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound, on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to Presqu’ile Rotary Camp or Big Brothers and Big Sisters as an expression of sympathy and may be made through the BRIAN E.
