Peacefully at Country Lane Nursing Home in Chatsworth, on Monday, November 20th, 2017, John A. Warrilow in his 95th year. John was a proud member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada P.L. and the last World War Two Veteran at the Royal Canadian Legion, Tara, Branch #383. He will be sadly missed by his partner of 20 years Kay McGee. Cherished father of Cheryl (Larry) Martin, Judy (Paul) Wheildon, Lynda Willcock (David Rider) and Tom (Linda) Warrilow. Loving grandfather of eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Beloved brother of Percy (Betty) Warrilow and Elgin Warrilow. Predeceased by his wife, Frances; infant son, John; grandson, Bryon Willcock; son-in-law, Terry Willcock; parents, John and Mabel Warrilow; siblings, Olive (Clarence) Morrow, Jacqueline (Harvey) Morrow, Marguerite (Bev) Radbourn, and his sister-in-law, Shirley Warrilow. John’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Country Lane Nursing Home and Dr. Robbins for the excellent care given to him.
A Memorial Service will be held for John A. Warrilow in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492), on Saturday, November 25th, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Graham Bland officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #383, Tara will hold a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Tara Legion. If so desired donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce, the Owen Sound Animal Shelter, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
